Experience Iowa Technology (EIT) is a Technology Association of Iowa initiative that brings students from Iowa colleges together with premier technology companies in the state. This program introduces students (at no cost) to Iowa’s large and growing tech industry, everything from the exciting startup scene to global leaders in technology.
~Fall 2016 Dates~
October 6 - Eastern Iowa (Cedar Falls/Waterloo)
October 27 - Central Iowa (Ames)
Students who participate in EIT will attend exclusive networking events and tour industry companies where they meet and network with CEOs, CIOs, VPs, programmers, developers, interns – the entire spectrum of a tech business. EIT students will also get a huge head start on the many internships and jobs available within these companies.
“The EIT program provides its students first-hand exposure to the growing high-tech industry in Iowa. Grinnell students have walked away from this experience with not only a deeper understanding of the industry but also with contacts, interviews, and internships. As long as the TAI sponsors this event, we will be sending our students.” -- Mark R. Peltz, Ph.D., Dean for Career Developement, Grinnell College
"I had a great time working with the EIT students. Being a young entrepreneur, I remember how it was difficult to get a really good feel for how actual companies worked while I was in college. This program does a great job of letting students get an inside look at how companies are ran, especially in the tech field. From an employer's standpoint, it's great to see young, talented individuals who have a passion for technology and business. It was great getting to meet so many bright and driven people and I look forward to participating with the EIT program again!" -- Adam Keune, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, Higher Learning Technologies
“EIT is a fantastic program. For Iowa, EIT provides a broader view of what we Iowans bring to industry. For local colleges/universities, EIT showcases talent methodically trained using industry proven curriculum. For local graduates, EIT gives them an opportunity to grow roots here and still make an impact in their chosen career. I can’t think of a better mix really. Men and women formally trained by industry leading schools further supported by Midwest values coupled with a program focused on keeping them here.” -- Paul Ruffalo, Vice President at RuffaloCODY
"EIT provided me with a great opportunity to network and build new relationships with industry professionals. The diversity of companies within this even also broadened my career views. Both of which helped create such a wonderful experience for me. I absolutely recommend this event to any fellow student. It was such a great way to open up new opportunities for my professional career!" - Michael Donlin, Iowa State University Student and TheBookDump Co-Founder
"I had the opportunity to interact with the Experience Iowa Technology students during their visit to DuPont Pioneer, and I personally came away inspired and excited about the future talent emerging from Iowa colleges. This program provided an excellent opportunity for students to connect and interact with companies, and I look forward to seeing some of these outstanding men and women as employees at Pioneer in the future." -- Dave Austin, Information Management Director -- Field Research, DuPont Pioneer
